SpaceX warns in IPO filing of Grok \'adult AI\' features, cites business risks
SpaceX has formally cited xAI chatbot Grok’s NSFW function as a business risk in its preparations for an initial public offering. In a draft S-1 filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, SpaceX said the feature could heighten risk and damage its reputation. The company said Grok could generate explicit or infringing content and is facing inquiries and lawsuits. It also pointed to scrutiny in Europe and U.S. oversight of chatbot safety.

California fines GM $12.75 million over driver data sales allegations
California imposed a $12.75 million penalty on General Motors over allegations it sold location and driving data from hundreds of thousands of OnStar users to data brokers. The settlement, pending court approval, also restricts GM’s business by barring it from selling consumer personal data for 5 years and requiring deletion of stored driver data within 180 days unless consent is renewed. GM must also stop selling driving data to consumer credit reporting agencies.

New York woman loses $300,000 in cryptocurrency scam
A 73-year-old woman in New York lost $300,000 in retirement savings after responding to a WhatsApp message advertising cryptocurrency investment lessons, investigators said. Authorities said tailored investment scams using AI tools are increasing. They traced 14 wallet addresses used in the transfers to five laundering wallets linked to about $5 million taken from multiple victims. U.S. agencies also warned of common red flags such as unsolicited contact, urgency and requests for secrecy.
