GPT-5.6 SOL tops AI online mall test after a year, study finds
Some AI models increased initial assets more than 14-fold in a test that put them in charge of running a virtual online shopping mall for 365 days, while others went bankrupt after failing to manage cash flow, a study found. Researchers provided 18 models with 100,000 yuan each and had them handle tasks from pricing to returns and funding. OpenAI\'s GPT-5.6 SOL ranked first by final assets.

China\'s AI research lab Z.ai has been confirmed as the developer of the anonymous coding model Ox Alpha. The model appeared on OpenRouter without a logo, company name or separate announcement and drew millions of developer queries in a week. It supports a 1,048,576-token context window and can handle text, images and video. Developers and researchers traced it through tokenizer fingerprinting, server-response comparisons and error-format tests.
