Midjourney develops 60-second full-body ultrasound scanner, claims 100 times faster than MRI
Image-generation AI company Midjourney says it is entering the medical device market and developing a full-body scanner that visualises internal structures in 3D. The company says its ultrasound-based system uses about 500,000 miniature acoustic units and AI computing to process terabyte-per-second data and build millimetre-level maps. It aims for speeds up to 100 times faster than MRI. Midjourney plans prototypes, a San Francisco facility in 2027 and FDA approval efforts.

Apple is set to unveil watchOS 27 at WWDC next week and is expected to revamp Apple Watch health features and the overall user experience. South Korea AI industry profitability concentrates in semiconductor supply chain; medical AI and autonomous driving still in investment phase
Revenue and cash flow in South Korea’s AI business are increasingly concentrated in specific sectors despite rapid growth in the overall market, a study found. Analysis of 80 AI-related firms listed on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ showed sales rose 55.8 percent from 2023 to 2025, while net profit grew sharply. Semiconductors and related suppliers led growth and profitability. Data centres and cloud saw weaker margins, while robots, medical AI and autonomous driving remained investment-heavy.
