MSIT to double support for field deployment of disaster response tech next year with 5.1 billion won

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT plans to roughly double next year\'s budget for applying disaster and accident response technologies in the field. The ministry said it will solicit new projects for 2027 under its EXPERT programme, with a proposed budget of 5.1 billion won. The programme supports field verification and commercialisation of safety technologies. New projects will be pursued in three types, including tech linkage, new-tech application and building an AI-based matching platform.

MegazoneCloud supports second MakersPub Game Jam, expands developer networking

MegazoneCloud said it supported the second MakersPub Game Jam, a game developer collaboration event hosted by game developer Mokum from Oct. 23 to 25 at the Megazone Industry-Academia-Research Center in Gwacheon. It provided development space as the venue and ran expert sessions to share technology and service operation know-how needed by game developers. It also introduced services including AI adoption support, membership-based security management and cost optimisation consulting.

2026 state audit puts PHP security, LG Uplus hacking cover-up allegations and AI policy in spotlight

Lawmakers grilled officials at a parliamentary audit over the government’s response to PHP security flaws, the decision-making process for a 4.7 trillion won frontier AI project and allegations LG Uplus covered up a hacking incident. The science ministry said it would prepare cross-government security measures and pursue regulatory improvements to foster the AI industry. LG Uplus said it would take appropriate responsibility if the allegations are confirmed.
