Korea ETF market nears 466 trillion won as asset managers compete more fiercely, internal controls in focus
South Korea’s listed exchange-traded fund market is expanding rapidly, intensifying market-share competition among asset managers. Total net assets stood at 465.98 trillion won as of May 12, with 1,108 ETFs listed. Samsung Asset Management led with 39.64 percent, followed by Mirae Asset with 31.69 percent. Mid-tier firms are focusing on active and theme-based ETFs. Regulators are also reviewing some ETF advertisements for potential internal-control lapses.

Hana Bank overhauls retirement pension ETF service, offers real-time investment information
Hana Bank said on Tuesday it has fully overhauled its non-face-to-face ETF trading service for retirement pensions to improve convenience and access to information. The bank linked Koscom\'s ETF platform, ETF CHECK, so users can view real-time quotes and market information at a glance. It also added a feature that alerts customers when an ETF in their retirement pension reaches a target return. Hana Bank plans additional upgrades this year.

Korea Investment Trust Management\'s ACE 200 ETF net assets top 1.5 trillion won
Korea Investment Trust Management said on Wednesday that net assets of its ACE 200 exchange-traded fund have exceeded 1.5 trillion won. Data from the Korea Exchange showed net assets at 1.52 trillion won as of the previous day, the first time the ETF has topped the level since listing in 2008. The firm said inflows totalled 382.1 billion won this year and cited strong returns.
