Six bidders including SKT, KT and Kakao join Korea\'s AI-for-all tender, selection due end-August
Six companies or consortia, including SK Telecom, Kakao and KT, have entered a tender for the South Korean government\'s AI public service project dubbed AI for All. The Ministry of Science and ICT said on Aug. 18 it received six proposals. Lead organisations are SKT, MKD, ESTsoft, Xenon, Kakao and KT. The ministry plans to select operators by end-August and launch the service within the year after an agreement and beta service.

Korean security companies are stepping up AI-related moves as the global security market reshapes around AI. East Security is launching an endpoint detection and response product linked to LG AI Research’s K-EXAONE model and signed an MOU with FuriosaAI. Theori supplied an AI-based penetration-testing tool to Woori Financial Group, and Cluocus is accelerating AI security efforts. M&A is also emerging, with Nets acquiring API security firm Softfreak.

East Security, FuriosaAI to cooperate on AI security infrastructure development
East Security, the security subsidiary of AI services firm ESTsoft, said on Thursday it signed an MOU with AI chip company FuriosaAI to develop next-generation K-AI security solutions and cooperate on technology. The companies plan to combine AI agent-based Alyac EDR and other AI security solutions with neural processing units. Cooperation includes product advancement, joint marketing and sales opportunities, and participation in major events at home and abroad.
