East Security, the security subsidiary of AI services firm ESTsoft, said on Thursday it signed an MOU with AI chip company FuriosaAI on developing next-generation K-AI security solutions and technical cooperation.

The two companies plan to combine AI security solutions, including AI agent-based Alyac EDR, with neural processing units (NPUs) to target the next-generation AI security market.

Their cooperation focuses on advancing products and reviewing technologies by integrating core solutions and technologies, jointly identifying marketing and sales opportunities to take the lead in the AI-based security market, and jointly participating in major events at home and abroad.

They also plan to apply FuriosaAI’s second-generation AI inference accelerator, RNGD (Renegade), and its software stack to East Security’s AI security solutions and inference engine for its security-focused small language model (sLLM).

East Security is also participating with FuriosaAI in its proprietary AI foundation model project as part of an LG AI Research consortium. It plans to expand synergies in the AI security infrastructure sector through this cooperation.

Jung Sang-won (정상원), CEO of East Security, said cooperation between the two companies, including work on AI agentic EDR, would help lay the foundation for a next-generation K-AI security ecosystem and serve as an opportunity to raise domestic AI security technology capabilities by one level. He added he expects significant synergies between the two companies as a single team in the proprietary AI foundation model project.
