Samsung Electronics considers hundreds of millions of euros investment in France\'s Mistral AI
Samsung Electronics is discussing a plan to invest hundreds of millions of euros in French AI startup Mistral AI, the Financial Times reported on July 22, citing sources. The report said the investment would be part of a new funding round in which Mistral is seeking a valuation of about 20 billion euros. The FT said Samsung could invest about 1 billion euros. Sweden-based investor EQT\'s Scaleup Europe Fund is also discussing participation.

The move comes as Big Tech expands technical staff for AI deployments. The Information said the hiring shows companies still struggle with real-world AI implementation despite layoffs elsewhere.
