Warren says CLARITY bill helps criminals, cartels and fails to stop Trump profiting
A dispute over the U.S. Senate’s digital asset regulation bill, the CLARITY Act, is intensifying again. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren criticised the bill, saying it would make it easier for criminals, cartels and terrorists to move money and raise funds, and would not properly protect investors or the financial system. She also said it fails to prevent President Donald Trump from profiting from crypto. Republicans say revisions include an ethics clause banning federal officials and their families from issuing or sponsoring digital assets.

Goldman Sachs CEO publicly backs U.S. Clarity Act, diverging from banking industry
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has formally voiced support for the U.S. Clarity Act, saying it can help create fair competition and promote market stability and development. The bill aims to clarify oversight between the SEC and CFTC and reshape digital asset regulation. Major banking and finance groups, including the American Bankers Association, warned stablecoin provisions could shift insured deposits to digital asset platforms and reduce community banks’ lending capacity. Opposition has also spread beyond banks.
