The government will simplify permitting procedures to spur construction of AI data centres (DCs) and ease regulations related to facilities. It will also 추진 a domestic technology development and demonstration programme worth about 200 billion won in 2027. The Ministry of Science and ICT announced an \"AIDC ecosystem support plan\" at the second Regulatory Rationalisation Committee chaired by the president. Measures include minimising pre-review steps in one-stop permitting, excluding unmanned facilities from building-size calculations and introducing requirements for regional coexistence plans.

The presidential National AI Strategy Committee said its standing vice chair, Ha Jung-woo, visited Daegu on Oct. 21 to inspect artificial intelligence transformation (AX) sites in manufacturing, robotics and mobility. Ha attended the opening of FIX 2026 at Daegu EXCO and toured an AI-based process innovation simulation center supporting small and midsize firms. He also reviewed manufacturing AX applied to cathode active material production at L&F Plus. He is set to visit Pohang on Oct. 22.
