VanEck says bitcoin could reach $1 million within five years

Asset manager VanEck forecast bitcoin could reach $1 million within the next five years. Matthew Sigel, head of digital assets research at VanEck, made the remarks in a CNBC interview, with bitcoin then around $81,000. He cited younger investors’ allocation intent and the Czech National Bank’s purchases, while warning of high volatility. Czech central bank governor says bitcoin could also be a reserve asset

The Czech National Bank governor released internal analysis showing that allocating 1 percent of foreign exchange reserves to bitcoin would raise expected returns while leaving overall portfolio risk largely unchanged. Speaking at a Bitcoin 2026 conference in Las Vegas, he again argued for holding bitcoin to diversify reserves, citing its low long-term correlation with other reserve assets. He acknowledged bitcoin could fall to zero and said avoiding overconcentration is key.
