Keel ends U.S. bitcoin mining, shifts focus to high-performance computing
Keel Infrastructure has ended all bitcoin mining operations in the United States and shifted its focus to high-performance computing infrastructure. Cointelegraph reported that the company said in its second-quarter report it halted U.S. mining operations before building high-performance computing sites. Keel’s second-quarter revenue fell 50 percent from a year earlier to $30 million, and it posted an operating loss of $141 million.

Crypto industry to contribute $55 billion to U.S. economy, report says
The U.S. cryptocurrency industry employs about 34,000 people directly but is expected to contribute $55 billion to the U.S. economy in 2026, an analysis found. A report by the National Cryptocurrency Association and Pragmatic Policy Group put total supported jobs, including indirect and induced employment, at 232,000. It said average crypto pay is $133,000, above U.S. median wages. California, New York and Texas account for 60 percent of crypto jobs.

Crusoe in talks to raise $3 billion, valuation seen at $30 billion
Crusoe, a data centre builder, is in talks to raise $3 billion in new funding, Bloomberg News reported on July 2, citing sources familiar with the matter. If the deal is completed, Crusoe’s valuation could reach $30 billion, Bloomberg said, about three times the valuation it received in its previous fundraising last year. Bloomberg did not name potential investors. Nvidia and Salesforce Ventures were among more than 10 participants in an earlier round.
