Crusoe in talks to raise $3 billion, valuation seen at $30 billion
Crusoe, a data centre builder, is in talks to raise $3 billion in new funding, Bloomberg News reported on July 2, citing sources familiar with the matter. If the deal is completed, Crusoe’s valuation could reach $30 billion, Bloomberg said, about three times the valuation it received in its previous fundraising last year. Bloomberg did not name potential investors. Nvidia and Salesforce Ventures were among more than 10 participants in an earlier round.

Oracle, OpenAI scrap Texas data centre expansion, seek other locations
Oracle and OpenAI have withdrawn plans to expand their data centre campus in Abilene, Texas, the Financial Times reported. The companies had been negotiating with developer Crusoe to increase the campus by 600 megawatts, including at least 2 OpenAI-only buildings, while a 1.2 gigawatt build is under way. OpenAI executive Sachin Katti said added capacity will be deployed in other locations and that more than 6 sites are being developed.
