LG Electronics launches \'Battery Turn\' campaign to collect used vacuum batteries

LG Electronics said on May 18 it will run its \'Battery Turn\' resource-circulation campaign to collect used vacuum cleaner batteries and recycle them into rare metals. The campaign, backed by the Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy and run with the Korea Environment Corporation and E-Circular Governance, has continued annually since 2022. Customers who return used batteries receive discounts on new battery purchases, with higher discounts offered this year.

Woori Financial Group picked for top 10 percent in S&P Global sustainability assessment

Woori Financial Group said on Tuesday it was selected as a top 10 percent company in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The assessment evaluates financial and ESG performance of major companies worldwide to decide which firms are included in a Sustainability Yearbook. This year, about 9,200 companies across 59 industries were assessed, and 848 were included in the yearbook. Woori ranked in the top 10 percent in the banking industry group.

Samsung Securities named member of S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook

Samsung Securities said on Tuesday it has been selected as a member of S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2026. The yearbook is based on S&P Global’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment and recognises companies with strong performance across environmental, social and governance areas. S&P Global selects the top 10 percent of companies worldwide by ESG performance. For 2026, 848 companies were selected from 9,200 firms across 59 industries. In South Korea, 63 companies were chosen.
