Kakao Games said on Feb. 26 it was selected as an 'Industry Mover' in the 2025 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) released by global credit rating agency S&P Global.

The CSA is a global ESG evaluation that each year comprehensively assesses companies across environment, social and governance. It selects and announces top performers by industry group. It is recognised as an authoritative indicator for judging sustainability management levels by evaluating the reliability and execution capability of sustainability disclosures.

Kakao Games received the Industry Mover grade, which is awarded to the single company in each industry group with the largest year-on-year score increase. Only 49 companies received the grade among about 9,200 participating companies. Kakao Games earned a score 32 percent higher than the previous year and was selected as an Industry Mover in the Interactive Media, Services and Home Entertainment (IMS) industry group.

It was also listed as a Sustainability Yearbook Member, which is given to companies that rank within the top 15 percent of their industry group and score within 30 percent of the top score in that group. Kakao Games was the only South Korean game company selected in this year's assessment, proving sustainability management capabilities at the top level of the industry.

Kakao Games received high evaluations across all ESG areas, including climate strategy, personal information protection, human resources and risk management. In the environment area, it was positively evaluated for strengthening its environmental management system, including conducting climate change risk analysis and obtaining international standard environmental management system certification.

In the social area, it improved related policies on personal information protection, user rights protection and human rights management, advancing its overall operating policies and management system. In governance, it received strong evaluations for building an integrated risk and internal audit system to strengthen risk response capabilities and governance transparency.

A Kakao Games official said, "Through this selection as an Industry Mover and a Sustainability Yearbook Member, Kakao Games' ESG management capabilities have been recognised in the global market." The official added, "We will continue to practise ESG management in various areas and strengthen ESG competitiveness at a global level."
