Microsoft considered acquiring AI coding startup Cursor but later dropped the idea, CNBC reported. The company reviewed the deal to bolster its AI tools but decided not to bid. Microsoft has built a position in the developer market with GitHub Copilot, while the AI coding market is led by Cursor, Anthropic and OpenAI.
