[DigitalToday reporter Daegeon Seok] CES 2026, held on its largest scale since the pandemic, has wrapped up its four-day schedule. The event, held in Las Vegas in the United States from Jan. 6 to 9, drew about 148,000 participants from around the world.

About 6,900 global media representatives attended during the period that included a pre-opening media day. There were about 4,100 exhibitors and about 1,200 startups. Overseas attendees numbered more than about 55,000. More than 1,300 speakers took part in over 400 conference sessions, and more than 200 government officials also attended.

Gary Shapiro, CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which hosts CES, said, "CES is the world's most powerful proving ground for innovation." He said, "CES is more than a showcase - it is where technology meets community, business and policy."

In AI, AMD, NVIDIA, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Lenovo, TCL, DEEPX and NXP Semiconductors took part. In mobility, BMW, John Deere, Caterpillar, Doosan Bobcat, Geely Auto, Sony Honda Mobility, Qualcomm and Brunswick participated. In robotics, Hyundai Motor, Unitree, Richtech Robotics and Tuya exhibited. In digital health, Abbott, Withings and AARP took part. In energy, Korea Electric Power Corp, Jackery and Straton Energy presented solutions.

Keynotes revealed new products and strategies from global companies. AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su announced the Ryzen AI 400 series for next-generation AI PCs, the MI440X GPU for enterprise and the Ryzen AI Halo developer platform. She also introduced examples of collaboration with OpenAI and unveiled the Helios rack-scale platform for the first time.

Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), also took the stage to discuss public-private cooperation. AMD also said it plans to invest $150 million to bring AI into classrooms and local communities.

Siemens CEO Roland Busch, together with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, announced an expanded partnership to build an industrial AI operating system. Siemens also launched Digital Twin Composer software to realise a large-scale industrial metaverse. PepsiCo Latin America CEO Athina Kanioura shared an example of using Digital Twin Composer to upgrade production facilities in the United States.

Caterpillar CEO Joe Creed said, "Caterpillar is no longer just a heavy equipment company but a high-tech company," as he unveiled the Cat AI Assistant. It is a solution that supports customers in the process of purchasing, maintaining and operating equipment.

Lenovo held Tech World at the Las Vegas Sphere. Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang showcased the Lenovo Qira AI platform, new ThinkPad models and Motorola's first foldable phone, the Razr Fold. Leaders from partner companies including AMD, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Qualcomm also took the stage.

At Eureka Park, about 1,200 startups showcased new products in more than 40 country pavilions. CES Foundry, held on Jan. 7 to 8 at Fontainebleau, focused on AI and quantum technology. AMD, AWS, Brunswick and Hitachi shared insights, while D-Wave Quantum and IBM held live demonstrations.

CES 2027 will mark the 60th anniversary and will be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 6 to 9, 2027.
