Largest Bitcoin-buying wallets in 2026 are super whales with over 10,000 BTC
Wallets holding more than 10,000 bitcoin are accumulating at the fastest pace this summer, a blockchain outlet reported. Over the past two months they bought a net 46,420 BTC, the highest level since March 15, as bitcoin neared $65,000. Other wallet groups stayed net sellers, while small wallets holding 0.1 to 1 BTC cut 9,700 BTC. Signs also point to demand shifting from the United States toward Asia and other exchanges.

Ethereum demand shifts from speculative trading to on-chain activity as staking surges
Ethereum demand is shifting from speculative exchange trading to on-chain activity such as staking and decentralised finance, as exchange-held balances keep declining. Whale withdrawals and staking are increasing and the DeFi lending market is showing signs of recovery. U.S. demand has weakened, with the Coinbase Premium Index mostly negative in 2026 and ether open interest at $11.37 billion. Network activity has risen, with smart contract deployments increasing in the second quarter and more than 500,000 contracts deployed in late July.

Bitcoin institutional sentiment worst in 2 years; Coinbase premium negative for 900 hours
Institutional sentiment toward bitcoin has fallen to its weakest level in the past two years as the Coinbase premium index has remained below zero for more than 900 hours, pointing to sustained selling by institutions and professional investors. CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost called it the longest stretch of institutional pessimism in two years. Macro uncertainty was cited as a driver. Bitcoin trades around $66,000, down 0.32 percent in 24 hours but up 1.78 percent over seven days.
