Homegrown AI foundation model, GPU power and chatbot safety set to dominate 2026 parliamentary audit
South Korea\'s 2026 parliamentary audit is expected to focus on market results for a government-backed homegrown AI foundation model, plans to operate 260,000 high-performance GPUs and safety measures for AI chatbots, especially for children and teenagers. A National Assembly research report flagged issues including GPU power supply, overseas outflows of AI talent, AI literacy and youth protection. It said support has focused on technical development more than market entry.

Korea Exchange delivers donations for children in single-parent and grandparent-headed families in Busan
Korea Exchange is providing long-term support for education and living expenses for children from single-parent and grandparent-headed families in Busan. The exchange said on March 19 it delivered 190 million won in donations to the Busan regional headquarters of ChildFund Korea for partnered children in the area. The donation includes 37.7 million won raised from employees’ personal contributions and by collecting small remaining amounts from salaries.

Nexon Games runs \'With Young\' healing camp for family caregiving youth
Nexon Games held a healing camp for youth who provide care for family members, in partnership with the Nexon Foundation and ChildFund Korea. The company said the two-day winter vacation camp ran from Feb. 4 to 5 and was designed to offer rest and emotional recovery. A total of 17 people, including eligible youth and their siblings, took part in activities at the company and on an outing.
