U.S., UK listed companies sell bitcoin to repay $31.7 million in debt
Two listed companies in the United States and Britain sold a combined 511 bitcoin and repaid about $31.7 million of debt a day apart. U.S. battery technology firm KULR Technology Group sold about 333 bitcoin to repay a $20 million Coinbase credit facility principal, with unpaid interest due in August. The Smarter Web Company sold 177.8909127 bitcoin to redeem a convertible bond due Aug. 5, avoiding potential issuance of 7,718,551 shares.

Payward partners with GTN to expand tokenised stock service xStock globally
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, is partnering with fintech infrastructure firm GTN to expand its tokenised stock service xStock worldwide. The companies plan to start with tokenisation of Hong Kong stocks and then broaden to overseas markets including Britain, Europe and South Korea. The partnership will also leave open the possibility of tokenising other asset classes. GTN will provide trading execution, custody and record-keeping infrastructure across more than 90 markets.

Bitget registers as financial service provider to expand New Zealand business
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has registered as a financial service provider with New Zealand’s Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR). The registration allows Bitget to expand services in New Zealand, including foreign exchange conversion, domestic and international remittances, custody of client assets, and portfolio and fund management. Bitget has been widening licences and registrations in various countries. It has also announced plans for a European headquarters in Vienna and appointed Oliver Stauber as Bitget EU chief executive.
