Samsung Electronics to show Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 works, also unveil Lee Kun-hee collection
Samsung Electronics added an \'Art Basel Hong Kong 2026\' collection to its Samsung Art Store, featuring 25 works by 20 artists represented by major galleries participating in the fair. Eight galleries take part in the collection, including Bank and Pearl Lam. Samsung said it will operate a booth at Art Basel Hong Kong as the fair’s official display partner in 2026 and will also introduce Korean artists and the National Museum of Korea’s Lee Kun-hee collection.

KOSPI reclaims 5,500 on war wind-down mood; FSS moves on margin trading risks
South Korean stocks rebounded strongly after the previous day’s plunge, helped by expectations of easing Iran-related risks and bargain buying. The KOSPI jumped 5.35 percent to close at 5,532.59, with foreign investors and institutions net buying, while individuals sold. The KOSDAQ gained 3.21 percent. The won was little changed. The Financial Supervisory Service moved to strengthen guidance and monitoring on margin trading and leveraged ETFs.

FSS chief urges banks to curb household debt and strengthen consumer protection
Lee Chan-jin (이찬진), head of South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service, met chief executives of 20 domestic banks and called for stronger consumer protection and internal controls. He urged stable management of household debt and steps to channel bank funds into productive sectors. He also told banks to reassess high-risk product sales practices amid ongoing controversy over Hong Kong H-index equity-linked securities. Lee urged proactive governance reforms and said oversight would shift to a preventive, consumer-protection-focused approach.
