Rivian R2 LiDAR-equipped model spotted, hides protruding sensor
A LiDAR-equipped test version of Rivian\'s next-generation electric SUV, the R2, has been spotted in the United States for the first time, without camouflage. It was seen near Rivian\'s headquarters in Irvine, California, and appeared to have production-spec styling. Rivian has said it plans to add LiDAR to the R2 from late 2026, after initial deliveries began on June 9 without the sensor. The company has not confirmed whether LiDAR-equipped vehicles will also include the Launch Package.

AI agent security startup Striker raises $64 million
AI agent security company Striker has raised $64 million in new funding, SiliconANGLE reported on June 29. The company operates a platform designed to protect AI agents spreading across enterprise systems. It detects AI agents running inside organisations, checks vulnerabilities before deployment and monitors behaviour in real time during operation. Striker previously raised $21 million in early-stage funding in March last year.

Uber ends Waymo hailing in app as Phoenix robotaxi pilot concludes
Waymo robotaxi hailing via the Uber app has ended in Phoenix, Arizona. CNBC reported that the two companies wrapped up the Phoenix pilot and will keep the vehicles operating locally for other uses. Uber said the Phoenix program was intentionally limited, with about 10 dedicated vehicles, and that lessons learned helped it scale quickly in Austin and Atlanta. Waymo said the pilot laid groundwork for global expansion and partnerships.
