MSIT, MSS cooperate on physical AI manufacturing innovation, speeding adoption by SMEs

South Korea will strengthen cross-agency cooperation to expand the adoption of physical AI by small and medium-sized manufacturers, covering technology development, demonstrations and commercialisation. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups visited KAIST’s Physical AI Demonstration Lab and held a meeting with technology suppliers and manufacturing demand firms. The ministries plan to connect suppliers and users through the Physical AI Alliance and support demand-driven development and demonstrations.

Jeonbuk physical AI pilot lab tests autonomous factory operations

Jeonbuk National University is testing technology that adds autonomous judgement to automated factories at its Physical AI Manufacturing Technology Pilot Lab in Jeonju. The 846-square-metre facility links robot arms, autonomous mobile robots, sensors and machine tools to share production plans and detect abnormalities. It can recommend responses, with plans to develop technology to directly adjust equipment and optimise multiple processes. The programme will expand through 2030 with central government funding.

XRP 16 percent drop triggers biggest long liquidations since Oct. 2025

XRP fell sharply on Aug. 22, triggering the largest liquidation of bullish long positions since Oct. 10 last year. Long liquidations totalled $38.58 million, far outweighing $6.5 million in short liquidations, for $45.08 million overall and an 85.6 percent long share. Binance recorded $12.63 million in long liquidations versus $1.4 million in shorts. XRP had surged to $1.70 before retreating to $1.42 after a rapid 70 percent rise.
