Naver to revamp AI content ecosystem with citation-based support for creators

Naver is pushing to strengthen its AI creator ecosystem while upgrading AI search, saying competition is shifting from model performance to data, content quality and user experience. It will launch a creator support program, Naver Mate, in June that pays incentives based on how often AI Briefing cites a creator’s posts. Naver will also open its AI tab to all users in late June and expand AI Briefing coverage to 40 percent this year.

Naver to invest 1 trillion won over 5 years in AI content ecosystem

Naver plans to invest 1 trillion won over five years to foster its in-house content ecosystem to strengthen competitiveness in the AI era. The company said it will launch a new fellowship program, Naver Mate, and provide a 20 billion won support fund based on AI briefing citations. Kakao is expanding AI features in KakaoTalk that proactively suggest information based on chat context and is testing agent commerce tied to gifting and external partners. Naver is strengthening action-oriented AI that links personalised search answers to shopping, orders and reservations, aiming for monetisation in later quarters through ads and higher conversion.
