KT Millie’s Library said on Oct. 20 it will introduce an “AI Briefing” function that summarises information about books, authors and topics in search results.
AI Briefing identifies whether a user’s search term refers to a book, an author or a topic, and provides the needed information at the top of the results.
When a user searches for a specific book, it summarises key content and features. When a user searches for an author, it also provides the author’s representative works.
Book and author search results also link to “Read now” and “Add to my library.” Users can start reading immediately or save books of interest from the search screen without visiting a separate detail page.
At the bottom of the results, it also recommends other books related to the search term. This is intended to help users explore additional books connected to topics of interest beyond the first title they found.
Previously, search results focused on words included in book titles and similar fields, requiring users to check multiple results themselves. Millie’s Library said it focused on reducing steps from searching and exploring books to actual reading through AI Briefing.
Nam Ki-hoon (남기훈), head of Millie’s Library’s AX division, said, “We focused on providing information that matches readers’ interests from the process of finding books so it can lead to the next reading.” He added, “We will advance the service so it can expand to the experience of discovering new books.”
