Kakao to showcase \'Kanana\' at public AI expo, offer AI National Secretary trials
Kakao will take part in the 2026 Public AI Industry Expo in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, on June 23 and 24 and operate an interactive booth. The company will showcase public-focused agent services based on its AI brand Kanana. The booth includes five zones, including Kanana in KakaoTalk, conversation and call summaries, KakaoTools, AI National Secretary and Kanana Safeguard. Visitors can try public service reservations and electronic certificate issuance in KakaoTalk.

Kakao\'s AI national secretary adds voice certificate issuance, public facility bookings
Kakao said on May 14 it has added voice functions to its AI national secretary pilot service and upgraded it so users can complete public facility bookings within KakaoTalk. The conversational AI agent, launched in March with South Korea\'s Ministry of the Interior and Safety, can be used through the KakaoTalk channel \'Gubbi\' without installing a separate app. Users can issue electronic certificates and book facilities by voice. Kakao also added an icon in the app\'s More tab.

42Maru CEO Kim Dong-hwan says public sector AX must go beyond layering AI onto existing systems
Generative AI startup 42Maru said on Monday its CEO Kim Dong-hwan was appointed a public-sector AX consulting technical adviser at a launch event for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Artificial Intelligence Government Technical Advisory Group in Seoul. The 101-member panel will assess the suitability and completeness of AI technologies for key ministry projects, including the AI National Secretary and 30 AX tasks. Kim warned against superficial AI transformation and urged an AI-native shift across government.
