Generative AI startup 42Maru said on Monday it attended the Ministry of the Interior and Safety-led launch ceremony for the Artificial Intelligence Government Technical Advisory Group at KT Building Onmadang in Seoul's Gwanghwamun. It said its CEO Kim Dong-hwan (김동환) was appointed as a technical advisory member for public-sector AX consulting.
The event, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety led by Minister Yoon Ho-jung, was set up to discuss core technical advice and policy direction for implementing an AI government.
The newly launched advisory group is made up of 101 experts from industry, academia and research. It will evaluate the suitability and completeness of AI technologies to be applied to major ministry projects such as the 'AI National Secretary' and the '30 AX tasks'. As a technical advisory member, Kim will take part in plenary meetings and subcommittee meetings.
At the launch ceremony's 'Talk Concert on the Future Vision of an AI Government', Kim spoke as a presenter on the theme 'The Age of Agentic AI - AI Native Democratic Government, Conditions for Survival'.
Kim introduced the current state of Agentic AI, which recognises tasks on its own and carries them out, and the massive social impact it brings. He said, "With complacent AX (AI transformation) that merely layers AI technology onto existing public administration systems, we can never survive in global hegemonic competition." He stressed, "It is not simply about adopting AI. There is an urgent need to build 'AI DNA' across government organisations and fully reinterpret and re-establish how people have thought and worked around AI, shifting to an 'AI Native' transition."
