Kakao said on Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Pension Service at the agency's headquarters in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, on AI-based public service innovation and work transformation.

The agreement was 추진됐다 to overhaul public services through public-private artificial intelligence cooperation and speed up AI transformation in the public sector.

Kakao will help create an environment for using pension services based on its AI technology and services. It also plans to seek cooperation measures to apply AI across the agency’s administrative work.

Kakao CEO Jeong Sin-a (정신아), who attended the signing ceremony, said, "If the National Pension Service is the foundation for preparing the public’s future, Kakao can play a role in making that value something people experience in daily life." She added, "Through Kakao’s AI technology and platform, we will create change in ways that help people understand and use pensions in a familiar environment."

National Pension Service Chairman Kim Seong-ju (김성주) said, "By joining hands with Kakao and applying AI technology to pension services and administrative work, we will provide pension information and carry out the agency’s work efficiently and transparently."

Kakao, meanwhile, launched an "AI National Secretary pilot service" with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in March. It plans to expand the use of AI-based services across public services, using the agreement with the pension agency as a starting point.
