Zoom launches AI-based office tools, to unveil meeting AI avatar in March

Zoom has unveiled an AI-based avatar and office apps, TechCrunch reported on March 10. The company is introducing apps for avatars, documents, presentations and spreadsheets, along with an AI agent builder for non-technical users and a voice translator for meetings. The AI avatar mimics a user’s look, expressions and mouth movements and supports asynchronous video messaging. Zoom plans to apply deepfake detection technology.

Zoom shares fall after earnings miss; 2027 outlook also below expectations

Zoom Communications’ shares fell 3 percent after its fourth-quarter results came in below expectations, SiliconANGLE reported on Tuesday. Revenue rose 5.3 percent to $1.247 billion, slightly above analysts’ estimates, but adjusted earnings per share missed forecasts. Its fiscal 2027 first-quarter guidance for adjusted earnings per share and revenue also fell short of analyst expectations. Zoom is pushing to move beyond video meetings into a broader work platform.
