South Korea\'s MSIT joins Linux Foundation AAIF to lead agentic AI international standards

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Aug. 25 that the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute has joined the Linux Foundation\'s Agentic AI Foundation to move to lead international standards for agentic AI. The foundation, set up in December, develops and spreads common specifications so agentic AI can evolve in an open environment. It has about 250 member organisations, including major AI companies and universities.

A2A agent communication protocol to be managed alongside MCP under AAIF

Google-developed AI agent communication standard A2A (Agent2Agent Protocol) will be transferred to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), Axios reported on Aug. 17. A2A sets rules for independent AI agents to exchange information and cooperate. Anthropic-led Model Context Protocol (MCP) standardises how AI applications connect to external tools and data. Axios said bringing A2A under the same foundation as MCP could help the industry shift to modular AI systems.

NHN KCP posts record Q2 revenue of 383.4 billion won, payment volume 17 trillion won

NHN KCP posted record quarterly revenue and payment volume in the second quarter, supported by increased transactions with overseas merchants and large domestic merchants. The company reported consolidated revenue of 383.4 billion won and operating profit of 15.4 billion won, up 28 percent and 25 percent from a year earlier. Total payment volume rose 34 percent to about 17 trillion won, also a quarterly record.
