NHN KCP posted its highest-ever second-quarter revenue and payment volume this year, helped by expanded transactions with overseas merchants and large domestic merchants.

NHN KCP said on Aug. 11 it recorded consolidated second-quarter 2026 revenue of 383.4 billion won and operating profit of 15.4 billion won. That was up 28 percent and 25 percent from a year earlier, respectively. Total payment volume rose 34 percent over the same period to about 17 trillion won, a quarterly record.

Overseas, increased vehicle sales at existing global electric vehicle merchants and online vehicle sales transactions from new imported-car merchants drove earnings growth. Transaction growth also continued at overseas merchants in global fashion and online video services (OTT).

In South Korea, transaction growth at a large e-commerce platform, the addition of new large merchants and expanded transactions in high-value payment categories such as telecommunications devices were reflected in results.

NHN KCP is also pursuing the buildout of next-generation payment infrastructure using AI agents and stablecoins alongside its existing payments business.

It recently joined the AAIF foundation, which is pushing global standardisation of AI payments, and is taking part in developing infrastructure under which AI agents execute payments on behalf of consumers. The company plans to build related technologies and a service operating framework and apply them to its services once financial authorities set institutional standards.

In stablecoin payments, it signed a business agreement with global blockchain platform Avalanche to build a payments-focused mainnet. In the second quarter, it conducted an online and offline payment proof of concept (PoC) for employees.

CEO Jun-seok Park (박준석) said, "Even amid a rapidly changing environment, we recorded record-high revenue and payment volume based on competitiveness across the full range of payment services," adding, "We will also speed up efforts to build the future payments environment, including AI agent payments and stablecoins."
