SKT adds family care feature to A.Dot Phone to alert guardians of suspected voice phishing
SK Telecom said on April 27 it will add a \"family care\" feature to its A.Dot Phone service to alert guardians immediately when AI detects suspected voice phishing during a call. Police Agency statistics showed 5,878 voice phishing cases in the first quarter of 2025, up 17 percent from a year earlier, while average losses per case rose 188 percent to 53.01 million won. Users can register up to 10 guardians, who receive alerts by push notification and SMS or SMS only.

SKT CEO Jung Jae-heon vows companywide AI overhaul, will not miss \'golden time\'
SK Telecom CEO Jung Jae-heon said the company will not miss the \"golden time\" to adapt to AI and will redesign its top telecom DNA into AI DNA. He outlined plans to rebuild integrated IT systems and security around AI, pursue autonomous network operations and change internal work processes. SKT also plans to build AI data-centre infrastructure nationwide, expand it to more than 1 GW, and upgrade its in-house AI models.

SKT blocked 1.1 billion telecom fraud attempts in 2025 with AI
SK Telecom said on Jan. 13 it proactively blocked about 1.1 billion attempted telecom fraud cases in 2025, including voice spam, voice phishing calls and text messages, up 35 percent from a year earlier. It credited systematic use of AI in spam and phishing response work. The company said it blocked 250 million voice cases and 850 million text messages, and applied its ScamVanguard technology to multiple services.
