Amazon first discloses data centre water use at 9.4 billion litres a year

Amazon for the first time disclosed the amount of water it used to run data centres worldwide, saying it consumed about 2.5 billion gallons, or roughly 9.5 billion litres, last year. The company said its data centres used an average of 0.12 litres of water per kilowatt hour of electricity, and that total water use fell 2 percent from a year earlier. Critics note the figure excludes indirect water use at power plants and during construction.

Five largest IPOs revisited as SpaceX plans listing

As Elon Musk\'s SpaceX pursues an initial public offering of about $75 billion, attention has returned to the world’s biggest IPOs to date. South China Morning Post reported that energy, e-commerce, telecoms, autos and finance dominate the top ranks. Saudi Aramco raised $29.4 billion in 2019, followed by Alibaba at $25.0 billion in 2014, SoftBank at $23.6 billion in 2018, General Motors at $23.1 billion in 2010 and Agricultural Bank of China at $22.1 billion in 2010.

Cardano founder 1.5 billion ADA sale allegation resurfaces

A new on-chain analysis has revived allegations that Cardano (ADA) co-founder Charles Hoskinson may have sold about 1.5 billion ADA during the 2021 bull market. Analyst Masato Alexander said large ADA transfers in 2021 could be linked more directly to Hoskinson or Input Output Global than previously thought. He said the flow may trace back to collateral from private stake pools run by IOG. However, ownership and any exchange sale cannot be confirmed from public data.
