KISA says national domain registrations rebound to over 1.1 million, boosted by stronger user protection

South Korea’s national domain registrations have returned to above 1.1 million, the Korea Internet & Security Agency said. As of end-June 2026, registrations stood at 1,101,000. The total first topped 1 million in 2008 and hit a record 1,602,000 in 2018 before declining. Registrations began rising again in 2025. Four new third-level domains launched last year logged 14,000 registrations by end-June.
