KISA says national domain registrations rebound to over 1.1 million, boosted by stronger user protection
South Korea’s national domain registrations have returned to above 1.1 million, the Korea Internet & Security Agency said. As of end-June 2026, registrations stood at 1,101,000. The total first topped 1 million in 2008 and hit a record 1,602,000 in 2018 before declining. Registrations began rising again in 2025. Four new third-level domains launched last year logged 14,000 registrations by end-June.

Dinotesia unveils LegalQ AI law search service
Dinotesia said on Tuesday it has released a beta version of LegalQ, an AI search service that lets users explore laws and provisions using natural language. The service can find relevant statutes and related clauses without requiring the name of a law or article number. It applies an “agentic RAG” approach that rewrites user intent into legal terms and selects a search method. It uses official data from the Ministry of Government Legislation’s shared law information service.

South Korean IT news outlet DigitalToday has officially launched an English news service powered by an AI-based real-time automatic translation system. The service is aimed at overseas readers seeking faster access to South Korean IT, industry and policy coverage. The platform uses OpenAI GPT along with an in-house AI translation engine developed by Hecto Group. DigitalToday plans to add Chinese and Japanese versions in March and is considering additional languages.
