KT recommends three outside director candidates: Yoon Jong-su, Kim Young-han, Kwon Myung-sook

KT's director nomination committee said on Feb. 9 it finalised three outside director candidates after reviewing nominees across four areas. It recommended Yoon Jong-su for ESG, Kim Young-han for future technology and former Intel Korea chief Kwon Myung-sook for management. The accounting position will remain vacant until next year's annual meeting. The committee also said it will revamp the outside director appointment process and pursue bylaw changes and other measures.

Coinbase returns to Super Bowl ads with Backstreet Boys nostalgia

Coinbase has returned to Super Bowl advertising for the first time in 4 years, drawing attention with a retro-style spot that uses the Backstreet Boys hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 9. Coinbase marketing chief Catherine Ferdon (캐서린 페르돈) said the ad is meant to highlight growth in the cryptocurrency community and offer a familiar experience to the public. Reactions online have been mixed.

Crypto ETP selling pressure eases as funds see another $187 million outflow

Crypto investment products recorded a third consecutive week of net outflows, though selling pressure eased, Cointelegraph reported on Sunday. Crypto exchange-traded products saw $187 million of outflows last week, down from $3.43 billion a week earlier. Bitcoin fell to $60,000, its lowest level since November 2024. CoinShares research head James Butterfill said shifts in outflow pace often signal a turning point in investor sentiment.
