Theo launches yield-bearing tokenised gold for DeFi use
Blockchain-based finance firm Theo has launched a yield-bearing tokenised gold product, thGOLD, The Block reported on Jan. 17. While existing tokenised gold mainly tracks gold prices, thGOLD provides interest by extending loans backed by physical gold. The product was developed with Libeara and received support from Standard Chartered’s venture arm. It is intended for trading and collateral use across major DeFi platforms.

Ai2 launches open-source AI developer agent
Ai2 has launched an open coding agent, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 27. The company said its first model, SERA, solved more than 55 percent of SWE-Bench Verified problems. SERA is provided fully as open source and can be used by developers without experience with large language models. It is available in 3.2 billion-parameter and 800 million-parameter versions. Ai2 plans to develop stronger models based on SERA.

Codebox ZUZU HR selected for government HR platform support program for small workplaces
Codebox said its ZUZU HR platform was finally selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s support program for small workplaces. The policy supports workplaces with fewer than 30 employees so they can use an HR platform without bearing the cost. Codebox will provide ZUZU HR support of up to 1.8 million won per company starting Feb. 1. The platform offers attendance registration, real-time work history viewing and leave request and approval on PC and mobile.
