Japan National Police Agency pushes to introduce wearable cameras for frontline officers
Japan is moving ahead with plans to introduce wearable cameras for frontline police officers to record work on scene. The National Police Agency said a pilot confirmed the cameras' usefulness, including for verifying the appropriateness of actions after the fact and for use in training and investigative evidence. Trials were conducted in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Aichi, Niigata and Kochi. Officers were mostly positive, while public reactions were mixed.

Elon Musk says SpaceX will directly cast key gas turbine components to reduce power-supply bottlenecks for AI infrastructure. A secret foundry in Bastrop, Texas is known as a facility to make turbine blades and vanes. Musk says solar capacity is being built rapidly at SpaceX and Tesla, but natural gas will be needed for several years. The move comes as data centres face constraints from power grids and turbine supply limits, amid rising concerns over air pollution and health impacts.

Qualcomm holds 'Dragonwing IoT Day' in Seoul, unveils 16 partner demos
Major South Korean companies working on industrial AI and IoT technologies gathered at an event hosted by Qualcomm Technologies in Seoul. Qualcomm said it held its 'Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT Day' at The Grand Lotte Seoul, sharing technologies and application cases related to industrial automation, robotics and agentic AI. About 500 people from domestic customers and partners attended. Qualcomm introduced new platforms and tools and partners presented strategies and cases. The event featured 16 demos from 10 companies.
