Snowflake adds Gemini 3 as default in Snowflake Cortex AI platform
Snowflake said on Tuesday it will offer Google Cloud large language model Gemini 3 by default in Snowflake Cortex AI. The company said customers can develop, deploy and scale generative AI applications, including Gemini data agents, within Snowflake’s governance-based data environment without moving or duplicating data across platforms. Snowflake and Google Cloud said they will strengthen their go-to-market strategy, including joint customer engagement, co-selling and Google Cloud Marketplace transactions, and accelerate global expansion.

Daedong Group declares major shift to AI and robotics company
Daedong Group will shift into an AI and robotics company in 2026, Chairman Kim Joon-sik said in a New Year address to employees. He set out plans for companywide AI transformation and stronger profit growth. Kim said 2025 saw sales and operating profit rise together despite external challenges. The group will apply AI precision agriculture, robotics and smart farming technologies across products and services and expand use of personal AI agents to raise productivity.

Red Hat to roll out enterprise Linux for NVIDIA
Red Hat said on Jan. 7 it will expand its collaboration with NVIDIA, citing enterprise AI development and rack-scale AI innovation. The company will provide Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA as part of the cooperation. The product is optimised for the NVIDIA Rubin platform. Red Hat CEO Matt Hicks said NVIDIA’s architecture innovation has made AI an essential technology and that Red Hat and NVIDIA plan to provide Day 0 support for the latest NVIDIA architecture across Red Hat’s hybrid cloud and AI portfolio.
