Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission nears six-member structure, one short of full roster

South Korea’s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission is preparing to begin operating under a six-member structure. Political circles said National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik approved a recommendation for Choi Soo-young as a standing commissioner and transferred it to the Ministry of Personnel Management. Four nominees recommended by parties have been sent to the personnel agency and will form a six-member lineup once presidential appointment procedures are completed. One People Power Party nominee remains for the full seven-member roster.

OpenAI delays ChatGPT adult mode launch again

OpenAI has again delayed the launch of ChatGPT’s adult mode, TechCrunch reported on Friday. Adult mode would allow verified adult users to access erotic content and other adult material. CEO Sam Altman (샘 알트먼) previously said it was planned for December, but OpenAI later declared an internal “code red” and adjusted priorities, derailing a first-quarter target. A spokesperson said other improvements are more urgent.

Economist Lyn Alden says bitcoin to beat gold returns by 2029

Bitcoin is likely to post higher returns than gold over the next 2 to 3 years, a forecast said. Macroeconomist Lyn Alden (린 알든) said gold has been strong but bitcoin is more likely to outperform through 2029. Gold sentiment indicators show greed while crypto indicators signal extreme fear. Bitcoin is at $71,164, down 44 percent from its October record of $126,000, but Alden said its long-term growth potential is larger.
