SK Broadband said on Tuesday it held a tour and broadcast production experience programme for local children at B tv Incheon Broadcasting as part of the Happy Alliance School social contribution programme run by the Happy Alliance social contribution network.
The programme, under the theme “This is how broadcast news is made”, was designed to let children see first-hand how news and programmes are produced at a local broadcaster and experience broadcast-related jobs.
The training introduced various jobs at the local broadcaster and included a mock news recording experience using actual broadcast facilities. Participating children learned broadcast production roles such as reporting journalist, camera journalist, news producer, technical director and announcer, and learned what each role does in the news production process.
It also ran as a hands-on programme in which children took on roles, presented the news and put together reporting content, going beyond a simple tour to experience the full production process. The children delivered news in front of the camera and looked at the studio and filming equipment to experience the production site.
SK Broadband supports children each year through the Happy Alliance School so they can experience a range of careers and discover areas of interest. It said it expected the training to improve understanding of the broadcast production process while also helping build future skills such as collaboration and expression.
“We planned the programme so children can experience a range of jobs at a broadcaster and discover their own potential,” said In-seo Park (박인서), head of SK Broadband's cable broadcasting business. “We will continue to expand social contribution activities that support the growth of future generations together with the local community,” he said.
