Toss Securities MTS hit by overnight system error, compensation planned

Toss Securities experienced an error on its mobile trading system that affected U.S. stock trading, the financial investment industry said on Jan. 15. After the U.S. regular trading session opened the previous day, users could not view stock information or their balances on the MTS home screen. The disruption lasted about 17 minutes from 11:37 p.m. Toss Securities said it was temporarily affected during infrastructure work and apologised. It said affected customers can file reports through its customer centre for review and compensation.

Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S26 series likely to unveil on Feb. 25, roundup of changes by model

Samsung Electronics' next flagship Galaxy S26 series is expected to come in three models: the base S26, S26 Plus and top-end S26 Ultra. Industry expectations include design revisions and broad upgrades to the display, camera and battery. The Ultra may adopt rounded corners and new privacy-display features, while the base and Plus could see camera island changes. A Feb. 25 launch is seen as most likely, with mixed views on price changes.

Naver, NC AI out in first round of Korea foundation model project; one more elite team to be selected

Naver Cloud and NC AI have been eliminated from South Korea's "independent AI foundation model" project to select a national AI model. Naver Cloud passed benchmark thresholds but failed to meet the government's independence criteria, while NC AI scored low on benchmarks. LG AI Research led all three benchmark evaluations and also topped expert and user reviews. The science ministry will hold an additional selection process to add one elite team and form a four-team competition in the first half of the year.
