HashKey Holdings has integrated HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global into a single platform and application.
A recent Cointelegraph report said users in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai in the Middle East and Bermuda will use the same platform going forward.
HashKey said it will bring its key jurisdictions together on a single platform and provide users with the same app. It will instead manage regulatory compliance separately to fit the legal system of each user’s region. HashKey described this as the principle of "unified access, localized regulatory compliance".
As a result, users in Hong Kong, Global, Singapore and the Middle East will access the service through a single interface, while the platform operates compliance procedures tailored to each jurisdiction. It differs from the early approach in the crypto industry, which maintained separate licensed exchanges by region.
Other exchanges operate in a similar way. OKX provides its website and mobile app as if they were a single platform, but under its terms and conditions customers are assigned to different operators depending on where they live. Its legal operating entities are also split among Singapore, Dubai, Australia, the European Economic Area, Brazil and the United States.
Kraken has introduced a similar structure. Kraken integrated Dutch broker BCM, which it acquired in September 2024, into its platform, and since August it has been providing services in the European Economic Area through its Irish MiCA entity.
