Brex chooses sale at half price instead of IPO, signalling fintech reshuffle?

Brex, which once targeted American Express closely enough to name its internal Wi-Fi “BuyAmex,” is being acquired by U.S. bank Capital One for $5.15 billion. The Information reported that Brex, valued at $12.3 billion in 2022 and seen as an IPO prospect, opted for a sale as growth slowed amid a tightening venture funding market. Brex’s annualised revenue topped $700 million but it remained loss-making.

Apple is known to have adopted Google’s Gemini model to upgrade its Siri voice assistant with artificial intelligence, and Anthropic also pushed to work with Apple. Bloomberg reported on Jan. 26 that Apple at one point discussed a long-term contract worth billions of dollars with AI startup Anthropic, but negotiations stopped due to a wide gap over financial terms. Apple will still use OpenAI’s ChatGPT for some complex queries.

Apple iOS 27 to be its smartest update yet, user satisfaction to rise

Apple plans to unveil iOS 27 at its 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference, focusing on integrating new artificial intelligence features and improving performance and stability. The update is set to rebuild Siri with a chatbot-style interface through cooperation with Google, enabling functions such as Q&A, file analysis and image generation. Siri is to be integrated across apps including Mail and Xcode. Apple also aims to remove unnecessary system elements and reduce user inconvenience and app conflicts.
