ETRI develops AI-based disaster psychological recovery support platform
ETRI said on Jan. 27 it has developed an AI and ICT-based disaster psychological recovery support platform. It digitises work previously reliant on handwritten records and spreadsheets and offers systematic management of counsellors and activity histories, case discovery and registration, and tailored psychological assessments and interview questionnaires. The platform applies disaster-related scales developed in South Korea and includes life-logging assessments using digital human technology, along with a dedicated remote counselling system.

AIM AI asset management app reviews top 5,000
AIM, an AI asset management platform, said on Monday that cumulative user reviews of its app in marketplaces had exceeded 5,000. The company said it was unusual for an investment advisory service to attract more than 5,000 voluntary reviews. AIM said its review participation rate was about 1.6 to 2.6 times higher than global services. It also cited ratings of 4.6 on Google Play and 4.3 on Apple’s App Store.

Web board games monthly payment cap raised to 1 million won after Cabinet meeting approval
South Korea will raise the monthly payment cap for online web board games to 1 million won from 700,000 won. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on Jan. 27 that a revision to the enforcement decree of the Game Industry Promotion Act passed a Cabinet meeting. The change applies to web board games that simulate betting and payouts, including hwatu, poker and sports outcome prediction. The move follows an approaching sunset deadline and consultations with industry and academia.
