IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to step up 1.35 trillion won support for National Growth Fund this year

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on Monday it approved 1.35 trillion won in support for advanced strategic industries and related ecosystems in 2026 as part of its plan to participate in the 10 trillion won National Growth Fund. Of the total, 850 billion won will go to corporate investment and 500 billion won to infrastructure. The bank plans to provide venture capital tailored to innovative small and venture firms and invest in energy and strategic industry infrastructure.

Cafe24, Global-e sign MOU to help online merchants expand global sales

Cafe24 said on March 9 it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Global-e to support online merchants on its platform in expanding overseas sales. The companies will explore offering Global-e’s cross-border e-commerce solutions, including merchant-of-record services, local payment methods, local currency display, estimated duties and taxes, and overseas settlement. Global-e is a Nasdaq-listed D2C e-commerce company operating in more than 200 countries.

MSIT holds meeting on securing ultra-gap solar cell technology

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a meeting of solar cell researchers in Daejeon on March 10 to share the status of technology development and progress on research tasks. The ministry said the meeting discussed ways to secure "ultra-gap" solar cell technologies to lead the next-generation market and heard difficulties in R&D. Researchers presented results including 26.3 percent efficiency in a perovskite-CIGS tandem solar cell, and participants called for full-cycle support for early commercialisation.
