KB Kookmin Bank and the National Police Agency honoured 10 people for contributing to the prevention of voice phishing 피해 and the arrest of suspects.

KB Kookmin Bank said on Sept. 16 it held the fourth KB Kookmin Guardian Award ceremony with the National Police Agency on Sept. 15 at KB Kookmin Bank's new building in Yeouido, Seoul.

The KB Kookmin Guardian Award recognises members of the public who prevent 피해 from telephone financial fraud or help arrest suspects.

This year, 10 people were selected as winners after spotting suspected signs of voice phishing in daily life and taking action to prevent losses, including a nurse and a mobile carrier dealership manager. The cases also included cooperating with police investigations or helping recover stolen funds to reduce 피해.

Winners received a certificate of appreciation in the name of the National Police Agency chief and prize money of 1,000,000 won provided by KB Kookmin Bank.

KB Kookmin Bank plans to continue strengthening its suspicious transaction detection and monitoring systems in response to increasingly sophisticated voice phishing methods.

Sun-hyun Park (박선현), executive vice president of KB Kookmin Bank's Consumer Protection Group, said, "We will strengthen our response to protect customers' assets by advancing suspicious transaction detection and monitoring systems."
