Meta floats VR glasses instead of headsets. Can they help mainstream VR?

Meta’s glasses-style VR device, Meta VR Glasses, is drawing attention as an alternative that could reduce the limits of goggle-type VR headsets and transparent AR glasses. The Verge said it is close to a first design that could persuade mainstream users to embrace VR again. The device combines a passthrough display with direct peripheral vision, weighs about 100 grams and costs $1,299. It also offers a 70 by 66 degree field of view and 37 ppd resolution.

SoftBank to invest additional $10 billion in OpenAI for 13% stake

SoftBank Group invested an additional $10 billion in OpenAI Group PBC, OpenAI's for-profit arm, lifting its cumulative investment to $64.6 billion and giving it a stake of about 13%. The investment is the third and final tranche of a planned additional $30 billion via SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Japanese ITmedia reported. SoftBank funded the first two tranches with bridge loans and the final tranche with proceeds from bond sales.

Bitcoin edges higher as U.S. Treasury yields cool; key support levels in focus

Bitcoin regained the $84,000 level as a surge in long-term U.S. Treasury yields eased. The market reacted more to moves in 30-year and 10-year yields, with the 10-year yield retreating after hitting 5.342 percent, its highest since April 2002. Concerns about bond selling persisted. Traders cited heavy buy and sell interest near $84,500 and $82,900, while attention focused on support around $82,500.
