U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a third offline event for top holders of Official Trump (TRUMP), a memecoin bearing his name.

Cointelegraph reported on Wednesday that the TRUMP organisers will hold a gala dinner on Nov. 22 at Trump National Golf Club near Washington, D.C. Under the official terms, attendance is limited to the top 185 people, calculated by time-weighted holdings from Oct. 5 to Nov. 12. The top 29 will be invited to a separate VIP reception. Trump is expected to attend as a speaker.

The event will be the third, following a dinner last May that invited the top 220 holders and a luncheon in April at Mar-a-Lago in Florida for 297 people. Shortly after the announcement, TRUMP jumped about 9 percent to $2.23 from $2.05. The token fell sharply after rising above $70 shortly after its launch in January last year.

Ethical controversy has also continued over running a personal cryptocurrency business and holding events for holders while serving as president. Consumer group Public Citizen estimated in August that losses by Trump-related cryptocurrency investors total at least $4.7 billion, and analysed that about $3.2 billion of that was related to TRUMP. Most are unrealised losses that have not yet been confirmed. Public Citizen argued that a structure allowing access to events attended by the president depending on holdings heightens concerns about conflicts of interest.

Trump's 2025 financial disclosure reported cryptocurrency-related income of at least $1.4 billion, including about $635 million tied to TRUMP. The White House has maintained that the Trump family is not involved in conflicts of interest.

The controversy has spread to Congress. The U.S. Senate failed to secure the 60 votes needed in a vote on Sept. 15 to proceed with deliberations on the CLARITY Act, with 49 in favour and 50 against. Some Democratic senators cited what they said were insufficient provisions in the bill to prevent conflicts of interest in cryptocurrency holdings by public officials.
