IBK Industrial Bank of Korea Q1 net profit 7.534 trillion won, down 7.5 percent

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on April 24 it posted consolidated first-quarter net profit of 7.534 trillion won and separate net profit of 6.663 trillion won. Consolidated net profit fell 7.5 percent from a year earlier and separate net profit declined 12.4 percent. The bank cited a base effect from last year’s record first quarter and the impact of Iran-driven exchange rate variables.

JobKorea and Albamon say 65,000 apply for Dongdaemun Yeopgi Tteokbokki tasting intern event

JobKorea and Albamon, operated by WorkSpear, said on Thursday that an April Fool’s novelty job posting event run with Dongdaemun Yeopgi Tteokbokki attracted more than 65,000 applicants. The companies promoted large-scale virtual postings to recruit “YeopTteok tasting interns” and “YeopTteok tasting Albamon” workers, using a concept of hiring 2,000 people. They said the campaign set a record for applicants among their novelty posting events, with competition at about 33 to 1.

Musk says there is no way to secure enough AI chips, making them is the answer

Elon Musk said on Tesla’s earnings conference call that the company plans to produce its own AI chips using Intel’s not-yet-finished 14A manufacturing process, according to The Register. He said he was pleased to work with Intel on core manufacturing technology and expects 14A to be mature or ready for deployment by the time Tesla’s Terafab scales up. Musk cited worries about chip shortages as the main reason for making chips in-house.
