Developer protection becomes flashpoint in U.S. CLARITY Act debate as Solana Policy Institute steps in

Christine Smith (크리스틴 스미스), CEO of the Solana Policy Institute, urged the U.S. Senate to keep developer protection provisions in the CLARITY crypto market structure bill. She argued open-source developers and blockchain infrastructure providers should not be regulated as financial intermediaries. Smith also cited the BRCA bill, which aims to provide legal clarity for developers and infrastructure providers that do not custody customer assets or control transactions.

One-third of global Wi-Fi networks still on Wi-Fi 4, limiting speeds of latest phones

About one-third of Wi-Fi networks worldwide still rely on Wi-Fi 4, a standard introduced in 2009, a survey showed. Ookla said 33.2 percent of global Wi-Fi networks use Wi-Fi 4-based equipment, while Wi-Fi 5 accounts for 38.3 percent and Wi-Fi 6 for 26.7 percent. Wi-Fi 7 stands at 1.8 percent. Older routers cannot use the 6 GHz band, which can worsen congestion and performance in dense areas.

iOS 27 hidden features overlooked amid Siri AI push

Apple put next-generation Siri AI at the center of its WWDC 2026 presentation, but iOS 27 includes many convenience features that were not explained in detail on stage. The update focuses on improving everyday iPhone use rather than a sweeping interface overhaul. Changes include full-screen home screen widgets, separate volume controls, improved copy-and-paste, updates to Weather, Messages and Camera, and tweaks to CarPlay, iCloud sync, Control Center, Find My and Wallet.
