Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) returned to net inflows on a weekly basis despite outflows late last week.

On Oct. 25, blockchain media outlet Decrypt reported that bitcoin spot ETFs ended last week with net inflows of about $301 million.

Bitcoin spot ETFs saw $137.9 million leave on Oct. 24, posting net outflows for a second straight day. Outflows over the two days totaled about $773.5 million, offsetting part of the $1.07 billion inflows from Oct. 21 to 23.

On an October-to-date basis, they are still negative. Bitcoin spot ETFs briefly turned to monthly net inflows during the week, but switched back to net outflows after $635.6 million left on Oct. 23. October-to-date net outflows total about $314 million. Cumulative net inflows were tallied at $57.6 billion, with total net assets at $100.2 billion.

Ethereum spot ETFs posted net inflows of $4.4 million on Oct. 24, but showed weekly net outflows of about $221 million. October-to-date net outflows total about $1.18 billion. Solana spot ETFs had no net inflows on Oct. 24, and October-to-date net outflows were tallied at about $68 million after $8.9 million left on Oct. 23.

The market also weakened. Bitcoin was trading at about $80,490, down 1.1 percent over 24 hours as of Oct. 25, and was down 1.2 percent on the week. Ethereum fell 2.6 percent to about $2,344, and Solana slipped 2.8 percent to about $101. Total cryptocurrency market capitalisation also fell 1.2 percent to about $2.79 trillion.

The weak trend continued after a global market correction during the week. Risk appetite broadly wavered as international crude prices rose above $111 a barrel and artificial intelligence-related stocks slid.

Bearish expectations also strengthened in prediction markets. On Myriad, the probability that bitcoin falls to $77,500 by month-end was priced at 43 percent, up from 32 percent a day earlier. The chance of a drop to $75,000 was put at 18 percent.

Expectations for the upside weakened. The chance that bitcoin rises above $87,500 fell to 10 percent from 17 percent. For Solana, the probability of reaching $160 first was priced at 51.6 percent, narrowly above the probability of falling to $40 first. That was lower than 54.9 percent a day earlier. For Ethereum, the probability of reaching $3,000 before $1,500 held at 61.3 percent.

Bitcoin spot ETFs recovered weekly net inflows, but October-to-date fund flows and major cryptocurrency prices remained weak. With investor sentiment shrinking amid higher oil prices and a tech stock pullback, the key question is whether continued ETF inflows will support a price rebound.
