SK Shieldus said on Monday it signed a three-way memorandum of understanding with the Korea Education Information Technology Foundation and Escape Solution to strengthen cybersecurity at universities nationwide.
The three organisations plan to build a close cooperation framework, including sharing security threat information and jointly establishing security policies. They also plan to systematically upgrade security levels across education and research settings. SK Shieldus and Escape Solution will provide the foundation’s roughly 360 member universities with the latest security threat and vulnerability information. They will also pursue product planning and joint promotions to expand adoption of security services.
SK Shieldus will provide tailored cybersecurity services, including MDR (Managed Detection & Response), ASM (Attack Surface Management), penetration testing and security consulting, taking into account universities’ open network structures and academic operations environments.
Kim Byung-moo (김병무), head of SK Shieldus' cybersecurity division and a vice president, said, "Universities are places where key research outcomes and sensitive personal information are concentrated, and the need to advance security systems is growing." He added, "By combining SK Shieldus' cybersecurity monitoring and response capabilities with AI technology, we will provide services optimised for university environments and contribute to creating a safe and trusted learning and research environment."
